August 13, 2011: Bi-monthly meeting at Emma Prusch Park in San Jose. Open to all. Meeting starts at 1:00. Come early (12:30) for chatting and snacking. The presentation will be on grapes and home wine-making. George (our speaker) says: “My presentation will be about how to establish and maintain a home vineyard. I have grown wine grapes for over 25 years, establishing a home vineyard in Walnut Creek that had up to 74 different grape varieties, and currently have a hobby vineyard of over 200 vines in Scotts Valley.”
Sounds like fun, and we can hope for samples!
In order to fully appreciate the snacks and samples, I recommend coming early to work in the orchard. The monthly work party was cancelled due to conflicts in the schedule, but we will start in the orchard at 9:30 for continued summer care, and perhaps sampling some peaches and plums!
