June 9 meeting

Thank you to all who participated in sharing great food and ideas at the June meeting.
I really liked hearing about George’s earwig traps: Dixie cup 1/2 full of water, float some sesame oil on top, and set the cup out. In the morning, count how many earwigs you catch!  Those little buggers can really tear things up.
I also really liked Dexter’s ideas for out-witting the squirrels. Check the yahoo group for pictures of his system!
I talked with the Cohen’s about their experience with reflective bird tape to control the bird damage to their fruit. They also use a recording of distressed birds; though effective, hard to listen to.
And it was especially kind of Lisa to bring a sampling of mulberries!
I hope everyone enjoys the approaching harvest season!
Our next meeting in August will be on summer pruning.
